Vision & Mission
At Lineage Genetics, our mission is to empower our community to take control of their health through education, self-awareness, and genetic insights. Focusing on prevention over treatment, we aim to provide the tools and knowledge to help our members understand their unique biological makeup. We believe that health sovereignty begins with informed choices, and through genetic testing, we strive to equip each member with the understanding they need to live their fullest, healthiest life.
We believe in strength through unity. Our vision is to create a thriving community of like-minded individuals who share a commitment to health sovereignty. By empowering our members with knowledge of their genetic makeup, we strive to foster a collective movement of individuals who prioritize preventative care and proactive health decisions. We envision a future where this community supports one another in breaking free from generational cycles of illness and embraces the true potential of wellness, living in harmony with their bodies and the natural world.
Know Your Health Rights
At Lineage Genetics, we believe that true health empowerment begins with knowledge—not just of your body, but of your rights. You are protected by a range of federal laws that uphold your ability to make informed health decisions, safeguard your privacy, and access care on your terms. Without the full picture of our genetics, we’re often navigating health in the dark. Our mission at Lineage Genetics is to illuminate that path.
Lineage Genetics stands behind your natural right to health sovereignty—the ability to explore wellness on your own terms. We provide tools to reclaim that sovereignty.
Genetic Non-Discrimination
You have the right to genetic non-discrimination through the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA), which protects you from being treated unfairly by health insurers or employers based on your genetic makeup.
Health Information Privacy
You have the right to health information privacy under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). This means your health information is yours and yours alone unless you explicitly state otherwise.
Medical Decision Making
You have the right to make your own medical decisions, including creating advance directives, assigning a healthcare proxy, and choosing or refusing any medical intervention, even in life-threatening situations.
Informed Consent
You have the right to informed consent, which is supported by federal regulations and the Patient Self-Determination Act. No treatment, procedure, or medication can be administered without your clear understanding and consent.
Emergency Medicine
In emergencies, the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) ensures you cannot be turned away from a hospital regardless of your ability to pay or your insurance status.
Medical Non-Discrimination
Affordable Care Act (ACA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act protect you from discrimination based on race, gender, disability, age, or national origin.

Know Your Body
Genetic testing is a tool used to introduce you to your body. Our Genetic testing is simple! It’s a noninvasive process that involves a cheek swab to collect a small sample of your DNA. This sample is then analyzed to examine how your genes express themselves in various areas of health, including cardiovascular, weight management, diabetes, nutritional needs, hormone balance, emotional well-being, physical fitness, and much, much more.
Your results provide personalized insights that will help you understand how your body functions at a genetic level. Best of all, the process can be done in the comfort of your own home! Once you understand your genetic expression, you gain the power to influence and improve it through tailored lifestyle changes.

The Importance of Genetic Testing
To break the cycle of generational health issues, we first need to identify it. Knowing your genetic predispositions empowers you to make informed choices and take proactive steps in your wellness journey. By understanding the cycles that affect your body, you can break free from inherited patterns and create a healthier future for yourself and future generations.

Receiving your genetic test results is not the final step but rather the beginning of your health journey. Think of these results as your body’s instruction manual, providing you with valuable information about your genetic makeup and how your body functions. This manual should be referred to continuously as you make decisions that impact your health. You can navigate this journey on your own, with the support of a community, or with guidance from your healthcare physician.

Some genes not expressing the way you'd like?
Adjusting lifestyle habits, such as diet, sleep, exercise, and stress management, can influence and even change many gene expressions.
For example: Imagine your genetic test shows a predisposition to heart disease, indicated by a specific gene expression related to cholesterol metabolism. This gene may be expressed in a way that suggests you’re at a higher risk for developing heart disease. However, this doesn’t guarantee that you will develop heart disease.
For instance, your gene expression might suggest a higher risk for elevated cholesterol, but if you maintain a healthy diet, exercise regularly, manage stress, and get regular check-ups, you can reduce or even prevent the onset of heart disease despite that genetic predisposition.
So, while your genes may indicate potential health risks, how you choose to live can significantly impact whether or not those risks become a reality. The key is to understand your genetic makeup and use it as a guide to make informed decisions about your lifestyle and health.
If you’re concerned or would like more detailed information about a specific area of your results, further testing—such as blood tests, labs, or imaging—through a healthcare professional is always recommended to provide a more comprehensive picture of your health.

The Birth Of A Lineage
Born a biracial baby in New Orleans, Louisiana, Enid Thomas was given up for adoption at just three days old. She was renamed Maria Enid LeBlanc by her adoptive family and raised without access to her biological roots. After graduating high school with honors, Maria joined the U.S. Air Force, where her path toward health sovereignty first began. During her service, she was repeatedly asked about her family’s medical history—her mother’s health, her father’s health—and every time, she had to explain that she did not have access to that information because she was adopted.
